- Discuss each step of your care with your treatment team.
- Request the assistance of a translator if that is helpful to you or your family.
- Ask for additional information about the forms you're presented.

- Write down questions 和 important information.
- Advocates can help give advice 和 support but they should respect your decisions about the care you want.
- Advocates can get instructions for follow up care 和 find out who to call if your conditions get worse.

Delirium Prevention & 管理
Delirium is a state of decreased attention 和 awareness that commonly occurs in hospitalized patients. It can be caused by many things, most commonly: surgery, 疾病, 药物治疗, 脱水, 以及睡眠不足. Most of the time it is a short-term condition, but sometimes it continues for days or weeks — 和 not everyone with delirium recovers or returns to their usual state.
Our nurses are specially trained to recognize, prevent, 和 manage delirium. Our initiatives include screening patients for delirium throughout their stay; promoting attention 和 frequent mobilization; providing bedside activities to encourage attention 和 focus; promoting uninterrupted sleep whenever possible; an educational brochure for patients 和 families.
Our goal is to prevent delirium, whenever possible. When it does occur, we work to recognize it quickly 和 treat it to ensure a speedy recovery.
How We Mitigate Causes & Symptoms of Delirium
- Eliminating medicines which may contribute to confusion
